Civil Aviation Authority Nepal (CAAN)

Civil Aviation Authority Nepal (CAAN) was established in December 1998 under Civil Aviation Act, 1996. Its main aim making aviation safe, regular, standard and efficient. CAAN has the responsibilities of constructing, operating and maintaining all airports in Nepal and equip the airports with all necessary communications and navigational facilities. Its main aim is to ensure flight safety and sustainability of civil aviation. Nepal obtain the membership of International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) in 1960. The ICAO creates regulations for aviation safety, security, efficiency and regularity and environment protection. ICAO headquarter is located in Montreal.
